-6[h-4]=-24 solve the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiply everything in parenthesis by -6 (remember 2 negatives will make a positive) then work through order of opperations add to both sides then divide to isolate h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide both sides by -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would you divide 6 from both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you multiply your parenthesis by -6 yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or you could do what KlOwNlOvE suggested, which is distributive property, it's easier that way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i did that and got -24 and then i added 24 to each side and got 6h=0 so do i divide -6 from both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A negative times a negative gives you a positive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6h+24=-24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so h= 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup.

thank you
