PLEASE HELP!! WILL FAN AND MEDAL!! Linda is playing a game where she is trying to draw a diamond from a standard deck of cards. If she doesn't get a diamond, she replaces the card, shuffles the deck, and tries again. If she draws a card 4 times and doesn't get a diamond, she loses. What is the probability that Linda loses the game?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are four suits one of which is diamonds three of which are not so three out of four

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

Yea that would be a 75% chance that there wouldn't be a diamond but they get 4 draws which is where I'm not sure what to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh i see four times in a row she does not get a diamond, i wasn't paying close enough attention in that case \[\left(\frac{3}{4}\right)^4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not a diamond on all four tries multiply because she replaces the card so the events are independent

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

ohhh ok got it, 31.6% thanks!
