Medal and Fan Can anyone give me a good way to start a persuasive speech? I think that " Today I'm going to discuss..." is a bit common. Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It depends what you are speaking about. When I write persuasive speeches, I usually like to start with a general question that you're whole audience can relate to.

I am writing about Mc Donalds.

Okay so how about this: When you drive up to McDonald's, do you ever think that maybe there's a reason teenagers seem to be the only one's working there. How about the fact that so many people go there and lots of them get sick? Did it ever occur to you that maybe, overrated fast food restaurant's such as McDonald's, may not be all that they say they are?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nice one! :) Thanks so much!
