Which pronoun best completes the sentence? How is the pronoun used? The coaches cancelled afternoon practice for __________ and the managers. A. us; indirect object B. us; object of a preposition C. we; indirect object D. we; object of a preposition
well, can you for the least part tell me if it is "us" or "we" ?
Us
yes, that is correct. Now, "us" should be either an indirect object or an onject of a preposition.
indirect?
Indirect object is the person or thing who preforms the action. Like, \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ \rm indirect~~object }\) \(\normalsize\color{red}{ \rm direct~~object }\) \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ \rm David }\) gave us some \(\normalsize\color{red}{ \rm fish }\). Why did \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ \rm you }\) kill \(\normalsize\color{red}{ \rm it}\)?
and "us" (the narrators, in this case) are not performing the action.
So, object of preposition?
How do you use color fonts?
No I wouldn't call that an object of a preposition. I would perhaps just go with indirect object. although I am actually not sure if any option is correct. And the latex I used is: `\(\normalsize\color{blue}{ \rm like~~this }\)` becomes, \(\normalsize\color{blue}{ \rm like~~this }\).
Thank you
Thank you.
indirect object is actually right.
I confused the definition. What I said the indirect object to be, is a direct one, and a vica versa.
