What is the 5th square root of x^16?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

so what is a fifth root as an exponent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure, I don't really understand the question. I've looked up fifth roots but there was nothing like this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's in the place of an exponent.

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

instead of a radical. Do you know how to do that for a square root? Can you tell me the corresponding exponent?
