Sarah bought a television from a rental center. She makes 18 monthly payments of $93.27 with her credit card. The rental center charges $3.85 for every purchase made with a credit card. She also had to pay late fees in the amount of $41.50 nine different times. What is the total cost of the television? $2,121.66 $1,678.86 $2,052.36 $1,748.16

I got the answer of 2,052.36 but this wasn't counting in the $3.85 for every purchase. Would that 3.85 be counted in at each payment every month for 18 months or just once for the purchase?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

With the 3.85 counted in for each payment I found that 2,121.66 was my answer. Would this be correct?

OpenStudy (bibby):

the only answer that makes sense is A, if you add 2052.36+18(3.85) it's poorly worded

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, I agree. Very poorly worded

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It should say 3.85 for each payment, not purchase

OpenStudy (bibby):

or explicitly define a payment as a purchase, yeah
