If you rub a balloon on a piece of fabric or carpeting and then hold it against your head, your hair stands on end. Explain why this happens.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if finally loaded ... it has something to do with the transfer of electrons. the rubbing either absorbs or removes electrons and the object becomes positively (or negatively) charged. the electrons in your hair are then attracted to it and the movement of the electrons from your hair to the object has enough force to move your hair in that direction.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats somewhat the principle behind it, but you would need to prolly revise it to make it more correct.
