check my answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Below are two different functions, f(x) and g(x). What can be determined about their slopes? f(x) George reads 200 pages in 40 minutes. x g(x) 4 −8 4 10 4 28 The function f(x) has a larger slope. The relationship between slopes cannot be determined. They both have the same slope. The function g(x) has a larger slope.

@cwrw238 help? i think its B but not sure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@princeharryyy

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

wat did u apply @shinebrightlikeadimon

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

let me see dat first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my brother said B but he wasn't sure so i said B then i was going to have someone explain it to me can you explain it to me because i want to learn the steps

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

ohk! wait few secs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

can u tell me one thing

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

@shinebrightlikeadimon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tell you what?

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

wat is this :) x g(x) 4 −8 4 10 4 28

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

@shinebrightlikeadimon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its supposed to be in a graph and i think it's undefined because all the x's are 4 so thats why i said that now that i think of it

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

dat is why I asked ....

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

nd yes your brother is correct

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

@shinebrightlikeadimon

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

and here's the xplanation how...

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

for f(x) the slope is defined ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

you can plot f(x) against x ... cos they have given 200pages per 40 minutes implies for every one mnute that is x, f(x) increases by 5

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

1mn=5pages, 2min = 10 pages 3min = 15 pages and so on...

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

but when it comes to g(x) as per the values given ... for the same x g(x) changes which is never possible...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k i understand so far

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

further they have not given the dimensions of g(x) and x .... so any contrast is done only when the dimensions are same... only two or more like quantities are compared... u can not compare just whatever u want...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnx i have mor can i tag you on them later?

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

ohk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnx

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

i don't have much time ask me here only .. its i=ohk with out lot of medals no prob

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

with that....
