OpenStudy (ahsome):

Whats the equation?

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

ok so a straight line has to equal 180 degrees so you have 90 + 32 = 122 idont know how to do the rest sorry

OpenStudy (ahsome):

Easy. You know that a straight line is equal to 180 degrees right? That means that when you add up all the angles, it should equal to 180 \[90+32+9x+4=180\] Then just solve from there \[90+32+9x+4=180\]\[90+32+9x+4-90=180-90\]\[\cancel{90}+32+9x+4\cancel{-90}=180-90\]\[32+9x+4=180-90\]\[32+9x+4=90\]\[32+9x+4-32=90-32\]\[\cancel{32}+9x+4\cancel{-32}=90-32\]\[9x+4=90-32\]\[9x+4=58\]\[9x+4-4=58-4\]\[9x\cancel{+4-4}=58-4\]\[9x=58-4\]\[9x=54\]\[\frac{9x}{9}=\frac{54}{9}\]\[\frac{\cancel{9}x}{\cancel{9}}=\frac{54}{9}\]\[x=\frac{54}{9}\]\[x=6\] Therefore, \(x=6\)

OpenStudy (ahsome):

Here is a simplified version: \[90+32+9x+4=180\] \[32+9x+4=90\] \[9x+4=58\] \[9x=54\] \[x=\frac{54}{9}\] \[x=6\]
