Three functions are given below: f(x), g(x), and h(x). Explain how to find the axis of symmetry for each function, and rank the functions based on their axis of symmetry (from smallest to largest). f(x) = –4(x – 8)^2 + 3 g(x) = 3x2 + 12x + 15 h(x)= SEE ATTACHED PIC
Show your work. It is not possible for you to have NO idea.
So, you want someone else to do your work for you? Show YOUR work. Give us ANYTHING to go on. Stop tagging people. Show some work and volunteers are FAR more likely to help.
f(x) - Just look at it. It's in Vertex Form. g(x) - Complete the square. h(x) - Just look at the graph.
@tkhunny im not asking for answers. I don't know what to go on so someone else will help me get started. Please stop being negative and rude.
What he is talking about is: OpenStudy values the Learning process - not the ‘Give you an answer’ process \(\quad\bullet\quad\)Don’t post only answers - guide the asker to a solution. \(\quad\bullet\quad\)Have homework problems? We can help you - as long as you are looking to learn how to get your solution (and not just the answer). \(\quad\bullet\quad\)Please do not copy and paste your problems. If people are going to spend time to help you, you should at least spend the time to ask your question as clearly as possible.
See the last one? It is not clear what you are having trpuble understanding.
I'm being neither negative nor rude. I'm just encouraging you to show ANY work at all. You must have something. I'm the one who has hope. Just show some work.
@e.mccormick I just don't get what to go off on. I don't know where to start so I never asked for answers, I was tagging people to HELP me! You are just all being rude and I am slow in math, not my fault. I don't get it and wanted help not to have people negatively commenting on my post and saying im just asking for answers
What is an "Axis of Symmetry"?
It's fine, ill just have help another time. thanks
Answer the question. This will help. Not answering the question will not help. Eventually, you will have to answer this question or you cannot solve this problem. Why not answer it now?
I need to go but axis of symmetry is a vertical line that goes through the vertex of a equation such as a quadratic. @tkhunny
I am not being rude. I am simply explaining what part of the code of conduct he is acting on since you reported his actions. You reported someone, a moderator responds to reports. Now, who you reported was another mod, but it still called for some clarification. If you want help for not knowing what the question means, you need to say so. All you did was copy and paist the question. You did not enter your question about the question or describe your trouble with it. When tkhunny demanded to know more, you reported it. Presto, you got another mod.
There you go. You DO have something. See, I was right. Come back when you are ready to show your work and answer questions. :-)
I reported him after he said, "So, you want someone else to do your work for you? Show YOUR work. Give us ANYTHING to go on. Stop tagging people. Show some work and volunteers are FAR more likely to help." Which I thought was rude and uncalled for.
I agree it is not well put, which is why I explained what part of the code it is under. The "Please do not copy and paste your problems. If people are going to spend time to help you, you should at least spend the time to ask your question as clearly as possible." part. So if there is a specific issue you have trouble with inside this, ask it.
Okay, its fine.
There are only two choices. 1) You show your work. 2) Someone else does the work. Nothing rude about that. It's just a fact. Seriously, just show your work. Don't try to defend ANY excuse to do otherwise. You will not gain sufficient confidence in your work, otherwise. Seriously again, come back when you are ready and have the time. There are many who love to help - especially when you show your own work. :-)
