The Articles of the confederation. There was only one vote per state, regardless of its size Weakness Fact 2 No power to regulate commerce or trade between the states, each state could put taxes on trade btwn states Weakness Fact 3 national gov't didn't have power to tax. Revenue comes from states Weakness Fact 4 Couldn't force states to obey its laws and taxation was ignored because they could not be enforced Weakness Fact 5 No national army or navy Weakness Fact 6 No national courts Weakness Fact 7 Each state has own paper money Weakness Fact 8 No prez, lacked strength and solid leader Weakness Fact 9 No power to raise money to pay for action against border encroachments Weakness Fact 10 Any changes to Articles required unanimous vote leading to long delays in implementation
