Yani buys a certain brand of cereal that costs $10 per box. Yani changes to a super-saving brand of the same size. The equation shows the price, y, as a function of the number of boxes, x, for the new brand. y = 7x Part A: How many more dollars is the price of a box of Yani's original brand of cereal than the price of a box of the super-saving cereal? Show your work. Part B: How much money does Yani save each month with the change in cereal brand if he buys 5 cereal boxes each month? Show your work.

Please help

OpenStudy (danjs):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont understand functions very well so

OpenStudy (danjs):

The new brand costs 7 dollars a box.

OpenStudy (danjs):

x is the number of boxes. If you let x = 1 box.. y=7*1 = 7 dollars per box

OpenStudy (danjs):

So the savings brand is 7 dollars a box, and the original is 10 dollars per box.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thank you

OpenStudy (danjs):

If he buys 5 boxes in each month, he saves 5 times (10-7) dollars each month or 15 dollars per month.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much you are a lifesaver

The graph represents the journey of a bus from the bus stop to different locations: The title for the graph is Bus Journey. The label on the y-axis is Distance in miles, and the label on the x-axis is Time in hours. The graph shows 5 parts. The part labeled 1 is a smooth curve going up from the origin. The part labeled 2 is a straight horizontal line. The part labeled 3 is a smooth curve going down. The part labeled 4 is a straight horizontal line. The part labeled 5 is a smooth curve going up. Part A: Use complete sentences to describe the motion of the bus in parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the journey. (4 points) Part B: In which parts of the graph is the function increasing, decreasing, and constant? (4 points) Part C: Is the graph linear or non-linear? Explain your answer. (2 points)
