lol how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use a calculator lol

OpenStudy (asett):

I'll walk you through it!

OpenStudy (eric_d):

You may use a calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i have another question u ready

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the complex solutions of the equation\[x ^{2}+4x+5=0\]

OpenStudy (asett):

On the calculator, take the log(0.001)/log(10) and that will give you the answer, which is -3. The reason why this works is because the "log" on your calculator (and basically everywhere else) is actually "log base 10", so dividing logx by log(10) will give you your answer.

OpenStudy (freckles):

\[\log_{10}(0.001)=\log_{10}(10^{-3})=-3\log_{10}(10)=-3(1)=-3\]

OpenStudy (freckles):

you can also find it without a calculator
