Which pair of points are on the graph of y = -3x − 11? (2, 7) and (-1, 4) (3, -20) and (-4, 1) (6, 8) and (9, 3) (4, -1) and (-5, -2) Which line is parallel to y = -4x + 8? y = -4x + 3 y = 4x − 3 y = 5x − 11 y = 2x − 3

@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think (3,-20) and (-4,1), explanation: coordinates of both points check your equation, namely 1) first point (3,-20) y=3*(-3)-11= 20=y--->checked! 2) second point (-4,1) 3*(-4)-11=1=y--->checked!

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

second part: parallel lines have to have same slope, so your requested line has the slope equal to -4 so A. first option!

@kittymeow101 do my answer make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so question 1 is B and question 2 is A

OpenStudy (michele_laino):
