plz i will fan you and give you a medal The sets of numbers 6, 8, 10 and 5, 12, 13 are Pythagorean triples. Use what you know about the Pythagorean Theorem and explain or show why they are Pythagorean triples. Be sure to show your work for each set of triples!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the question is at the top

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have summoned the gods

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok look at the numbers then find what is in comin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is nothing in comon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont under stand this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Callisto

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok 6 8 10 are multabuls of 2 and 5 12 13 are multabuls of 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i understand so far

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do i do know

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Pythagorean triples are integers that form sides of a right triangle : |dw:1418827539296:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 squared + 8 squared should be 10 squared

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[a^2+b^2=c^2\] it needs to be a right triangle |dw:1418827584111:dw| where c is the longest side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

use pythagorean theorem to show the given set of numbers satisfy the relation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aaaaaaaa i am so confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So remember, the equation has to equal, like 3,4,5 3^2+4^2=5^2 9+16=25 the relation agrees so there's another smaller one I can see right off the bat that will give you the relation (no pun attended)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but there are 3 numbers

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

a triangle also has 3 sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you dont like the number 3 ha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well someone already gave away the answer, so lets use one for example, 6, 8, 10 |dw:1418827837755:dw| \[6^2+8^2=10^2\] does this agree?
