These owlbucks can be used to buy gift items and various other goods in the Owlfred's Emporium. Also these Owlbucks can be used to pay in case you want to get help from a Qualified Helper. ((All these are upcoming features)

Smartcents come from medals as we all know.
Owlbucks will be the exchange currency for "Real" money.
This will be how OpenStudy will be adding new payable features and accepting donations.
Private help rooms, Qualified helpers, bumps, titles, ad removal, etc are such things that can be bought with "Owlbucks"
Qualified helpers have the opportunity to be paid in this system.

"help from QUALIFIED Helpers" , does this mean from professional people? like a real tutor? a teacher? and then they will get paid? what if...
if these 'qualified helpers', who are helping in OS right now for free, would prefer to get paid? it means that the users who have owlbucks (only) can get proper help from these helpers and the other users who don't have any owlbucks would have to idk~ depend on their luck to get a right guidance for their homework from other users who are willing to help without any payment?...
OR it means a different thing? If a user needs a 'tutor' to help in a particular subject, the helper will teach that specific subject to that user? like tutorvista?

I don't know all of it myself, but I'll tell you what I think it will be when Preetha had the meeting to tell us about it (it was a few months ago so she might have changed a few ideas since then)

Qualified Helpers (QH for short) will be simply people (tutors) in the OpenStudy community who are *masters* of a subject and would like to be paid on the side. Everything will still be free, and not all tutors might qualify or accept the offer so the people not paying would still be able to get help.

Here's how it goes, a user would pay real money for Owlbucks, then be able to use those Owlbucks to specially tag a Qualified Helper to their question for better and faster help. The Qualified Helper would then help the user through their question.
If the user would like a refund, a moderator would look over that question and make the call.

I believe Preetha mentioned first offering the user's of 90SS the option of becoming a QH then opening it up?
