why are scientific models important
Scientific (and any sort) models are meant to encompass a lot of information in one easy to understand bit of an idea. But the real importance comes from the connection that this forms between all of it's individual elements. This saves from having to memorize ALL the individual elements. It's kind of like how you learned to multiply and add and so on so that now... you can do any kind of problem like this: 1838 + 2253 = ? I'm sure you can figure this problem out. But it's NOT because when you were younger you memorized all the different combinations of numbers that addition can do. No way! Rather you learned what it means to "add" two numbers together and now you can do it with any pair of numbers no problem. In the same way scientific models help encapsulate the world into small bite-sized ideas that actually explain quite a LOT of reality :)
