Need some HUGE help if you don't mind.

Now, I usually answer questions myself, but this question is a little bit different than most. For this question, I am expected to write a complete ESSAY . I'm not very good at essays, especially when it's something that I couldn't care less about. I'll still do what I need to do, but I was wondering if I could get a little extra help about what I should do while I search online about Texas's history.

Answer the following question in essay form. There should be an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Make sure you use complete sentences.

How did civil, political, and religious freedoms in Texas change after the establishment of the Republic of Texas?

Find your facts about civil, political and religious freedoms in the RoT. You probably know that it was part of Mexico before independence. So that's what you'r focusing on. How was it under Mexican governance and how did it change.
Each of those topics is a body paragraph.
Your thesis could easily be that after independence each of those freedoms became more Americanized. Not officially American, but more like the US at the time, because the new government was mostly former Americans.

For your intro, state the thesis and mention a little about each of the three.
Then do your body graphs.
And then sorta regurgitate the thesis for the last paragraph. You can throw in an opinion or a zinger at the end.

If it were me, I'd write up all the great freedoms white men got for themselves by leaving Mexico and then point out the irony of the situation for black Texans. Slavery was illegal under Mexican law. After independence, the law made them slaves again.
