I thought it was the Electron, because that's what everyone else in my class put for the answer, I'm confused now. Is it the proton or the neutron ? i need help now i have a big chemistry test tomorrow .

the difference between one proton is the difference between an element, so if you added a proton you could go from protactinium to uranium which vastly changes its properties. Electrons determine how the atom reacts, as well as neutrons
