how to factor x^2 - 6x + 8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so what I like to do is set it up like this. First, we know the first part is x^2 so... (x )(x ) Then since the middle is negative and the end is positive, we know it will be two negative signs... (x - )(x - ) Then since 8 is 4 x 2... (x - 8)(x - 2)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

(x-8)(x-2) = x^2-10x+16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry (x-4)(x-2)

I didn't mean to put 8 >_<
