@StudyGurl14 @KamiBug

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

simply plug in x=1 for all that applies 4(1) divided by 2 _________________ 2(1)5+9

OpenStudy (ffrocks3):

\[\frac{ 4x/2 }{ }\]

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

you simplify all that you get 2/19

OpenStudy (ffrocks3):

------ 5+11x

OpenStudy (winsteria):

so it's 2/19?

OpenStudy (ffrocks3):

you cannot do that with non like terms

OpenStudy (ffrocks3):

\[\frac{ 4x/2 }{ 5+11x }\]

OpenStudy (ffrocks3):

unless you can for some reason and then it would be \[\frac{ 2x }{ 19x }\]

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

What? Don't you plug replace all the x with one's? Shouldn't all variables be gone?

OpenStudy (ffrocks3):

^ Sure

OpenStudy (winsteria):

ok so it's 2/19? right?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

If you simply replace the variables with 1, yes, it would be 2/19. Unless my method is wrong.

OpenStudy (winsteria):

okay thank you both
