Log vs ln? I'll explain... MEDAL

OpenStudy (adamaero):

\[\log _{6}10\] = log10/log6 = ln(10)/ln(6) ?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is the same because of the change of base formula

OpenStudy (adamaero):

Is there a proof or something?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you can use either one

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is the change of base formula it doesn't matter what log you use \[\log_b(x)=\frac{\log_a(x)}{\log_a(b)}\] for \(a=10,a=e,a=17,a=\pi,...\)

OpenStudy (adamaero):

I guess I don't fundamentally understand what a proof is then.
