what is the inverse of squaring a number?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

an inverse "undoes" a function, so here is an example: If we have \(\large x^3\), the only way to find \(x\) would be to take the cube root of the function.\[\large \sqrt[3]{x^3}= (x^3)^{1/3} = x^{3 \cdot 1/3} = x^1= x\]

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Do you understand, @turtle_haley13 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, thank you!

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Great :)
