OpenStudy (ericwise):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First find a way to pick the start and end characters.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how you would do that?

OpenStudy (ericwise):

Using FCP?

OpenStudy (ericwise):

like, the first space should be a x3 and the last a x2?

OpenStudy (perl):

break the problem down into two steps, first find the number of ways to begin and end with D,P,or M

OpenStudy (ericwise):

would that be 3P2? I'm confused, this unit is confusing :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I mean is something like: 1. Chose a letter from D,P, M and put it at front 2. Chose a letter from remainder D,P,M and put it at the back 3. Assign the remaining D,P,M somewhere in the middle 4. Assign the remaining characters in the remaining spots.

OpenStudy (ericwise):

oh, the spaces shouls look something like this then? 3 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 x 2
