What is meant by the title of this article and the Eastern proverb “the arch never sleeps”? An arch consists of two weaknesses so it’s always shaky and needs to ‘stay awake’. An arch is always working to hold itself up. It has to “stay awake” or it will crumble. The voussoirs rest on the centering until the keystone is wedged into place so they never ‘sleep’. An arch can carry more weight than a straight beam can across the same span, so it's used frequently and hence never ‘sleeps’.

An example of an arch is a curved opening in a doorway. In order to remain intact, the two halves of the arch need to have an equal amount of tension between them at all times so it doesn't collapse. This is the meaning of the proverb, an arch never sleeps.
so is it d
I would say B, because the arch is a structure, of all kinds, and it supports itself. Therefore if it "rests" it would be destroyed. :)
