A circular pool is enclosed by a square fence so that the pool touches the fence in four places. If the circumference of the pool is 100π feet, how much fencing was used to enclose the area? Do not include any units in your answer and round to the nearest foot

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

HINT: Make use of the fact that the circumference = \(2\pi r\) where \(r\) is the radius of the pool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@asnaseer i did, now what

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

so what did you get for the radius?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...i got...50 feet...its probably not right

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

50 is correct for the radius, now look at the diagram and see if you can use this value to work out how much fencing is needed: |dw:1418912679061:dw|
