i know 13 times13 is 169 but that leaves a remainder 1 and the square root of 1 is 1 sooooo im confused

This is the writing section, but I'll try to do my best anyways. You are multiplying square rot 170 by what? If you want to approximate it to the nearest integer, then it will be 13. If you want to simplify, then you can't simplify, because none of factors of 170 are perfect squares; \(\large\color{black}{ 170=17\times 5 \times 2 }\) see? all of the prime factors to which I broke it, are not repeating.
