A taco stand sells tacos for $3.25 each. The stand’s expenses for the day are $210. Define your variables and write an inequality to represent the amount of tacos they need to sell per day to make a profit, and then solve the inequality. Provide your conclusion as a complete sentence.

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

Say x is the number of tacos they need to sell, ($3.25 * x) should be greater than $210 if they want to make a profit.

How do you write an equality representing that?

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

The inequality is gonna look like this : 3.25*x > 250

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so he would need to sell 65 tacos to break even. 65*3.25=64.67

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct?

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

Yep ! And that would mean x should be greater than 65 if they wanna make a profit (aka x>65)

THANK YOU!!

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

Much welcome =)
