Medals will be given!!!! A student is running a 5-kilometer race. He runs 1 kilometer every 3 minutes. Select the function that describes his distance from the finish line. f(x) = - 1 over 3 x + 5 f(x) = - 1 over 5 x + 3 f(x) = 1 over 5 x + 5 f(x) = 1 over 3 x + 3
the last one
Ok, now look at all of the possible choices they have given you. They all involve fractions: -1/(3x+5); -1/(5x+3); 1/(5x+5); 1/(3x+3) If you think about it, will any of those ever equal 0?
I don't think so
Fuction 2
i think it's the first one, cause the formula for speed is speed=distance/time, arrange this formula to get the distance so it will be distance=speed X time if we let x=time, then distance= (1/3)(x) then subtract this distance to finish line which is 5 km. therefore the function will be distance is equal to 5-(1/3)(x) or f(x) = - 1 over 3 x + 5 get it?
THEHUNGERGAMES please don't give out wrong direct answers
sorry
@ElonaSushchik
@FEARLESS_RAIN do you get it and does that help:)
So It's the second one?
Is it thew first or second answer?
@ActionSPORT902100
