What are the solutions of 3x2 + 6x + 6 = 0? -2 ± i -2 ± 2i -1 ± i 1 ± i

OpenStudy (agl202):

Factor out 3 and divide both sides by that term to get.. x² + 2x + 2 = 0 Then, by standard form.. ax² + bx + c = 0 a = 1 b = 2 c = 2 So by quad. formula.. x = (-b ± √(b² - 4ac))/2a = (-6 ± √(6² - 4(3)(6)))/6 = (-6 ± √(36 - 72))/6 = (-6 ± √-36)/6 = (-6 ± 6i)/6 = -1 ± i I hope this helps!

thank you!!!
