The question asks me to put y = -2/5x - 3 in standard form with integers. I know that standard form is Ax + By = C but how do I convert it?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[y=-\frac{2}{5}x-3\] muitiply by 5 first

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[5y=-2x-15\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

add \(2x\) to put it in standard form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so I add to both sides or just the right?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

what you do on the left you do on the right you want all the variables on the right \[5y=-2x-15\\ 2x+5y=-15\]

Okay. Thanks so much misty1212!
