1. Questions 1 and 2 refer to the figure shown. If segment UV is considered to be the base of parallelogram TUVW, which segment would represent the altitude of the parallelogram? (Points : 1) segment TU segment TX segment WT segment WV

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

OpenStudy (shal):

OpenStudy (shal):

anyone?

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

I believe its TX Cuz altitude is like a height :/

OpenStudy (shal):

OpenStudy (shal):

@Godlovesme

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

I'm soo sorryyyy idk :(

OpenStudy (shal):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The area of a parallelogram is: A = b * h b is the base of the parallelogram (18) h is the height (altitude) of the parallelogram (16) Then to get the area of the rest of the figure, add the triangle on the left side: A = 0.5 * b * h b is the base of the triangle (you are given 2 sides, use pythagorean theorem to find the base length) h is the height of the triangle (16)
