There are two types of "voices;" active voices, and passive voices. You can tell a passive voice from an active because in a passive voice, the subject of the sentence is being acted upon.
In the first sentence, "The bike fell off its stand," the subject is "bike"- but what's happening to the bike? It's falling off its stand! This sounds like a passive voice.
Let's look at the second as well. "During the movie, we ate buttered popcorn." The subject is "we," and the verb is "ate." We're not eating ourselves! We're eating the noun, "popcorn."
