The easiest way to find a common denominator is to just multiply the denominator of both fractions. However, this asks specifically for the least common denominator. So we need the smallest multiple of each denominator that is common to both. I recommend starting with the larger denominator (18). Multiply it by 2. Then see if this new value is divisible by the other denominator (12). If not, then try multiplying 18 by 3, by 4, by 5 etc... Eventually you'd find a number (obviously before 12 xD) that is the LCD. Hint: in this case, I think you'll find it works the first time.
