I'm thinking A or D
Not sure tho
What do you think A and D say?
A says something along the lines of "Pick up trash from half an hour ago"
D says something along the lines of "Pick up trash from half past one"
(I think)
Or perhaps it would be B - B is the only one that has 'hace,' and is kind of the oddball option in this question
And now I'm thinking it would be C because that has "desde hace" which is more correct
Actually, the more I think about it, C is probably the right one
lmao, process of elimination
For future students taking this quiz, the correct answer is: Recojo la basura desde hace la una y media.
C is not right :(
The answer is D @HourglassMage
Hello there! I agree with @KendrickLamar2014 ! Also, @HourglassMage , here are some tips: basically: *DESDE* + a starting point (in time) in the past *HACE* + an amount of time Now, using the options you gave, here is what I mean by "starting point" and "amount of time": [A] Recojo la basura desde media hora. [*media hora* is an amount of time] [B] Recojo la basura hace media hora que. [*media hora* is an amount of time] [C] Recojo la basura desde hace la una y media. [*la una y media* is a starting point in the past] [D] Recojo la basura desde la una y media. [*la una y media* is a starting point in the past] Can you now say why A and C are wrong? ========== In case you need more details (and so you understand why B is wrong), here are the patterns for DESDE and for HACE again, now with some correct example sentences: ---- *DESDE* + an exact (starting) point in time in the past (example: *Estoy en Chicago DESDE las 14.00* = "I've been in Chicago since 14.00") ---- HACE [2 possible patterns here:] [1] *HACE* + an amount of time (example: *Estoy en Chicago HACE media hora.* = "I've been in Chicago for half an hour.") [2] *HACE* + amount of time + *que* + clause [i.e. a verb with a subject] (example: *HACE media hora que estoy en Chicago.* = "It's been half an hour that I am in Chicago.") ---- Note that *desde hace* is also correct: this follows the same pattern as the 1st pattern for *HACE* above. *DESDE HACE* + an amount of time (example: *Estoy en Chicago DESDE HACE media hora.*) ========== Hope this helps! Blessings
