Select the polynomial function? (picture attached below)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. f(x) = x^3 * (x-3)^3 B. f(x) = x^3 * (x-12) * (x+3) C. f(x) = x * (x-3)^5 D. f(x) = -x^3 * (x-3)^3

Directrix (directrix):

From the graph, 0 and 3 are roots. They are triple roots because of the change in concavity of the curve as it passes through them. If 0 is a triple root, then there is an x^3 component. If 3 is a triple root, then there is an (x - 3)^3 componet. Remember: If 3 is a root, then x - 3 is a factor. F(x) = x^3 * (x - 3)^3 --> Is there anything that looks like this? @JoeJoldin

Directrix (directrix):

Whoa, just a minute. Quadrants of entrance and exit have to be checked.

Directrix (directrix):

This is what I got: A. f(x) = x^3 * (x-3)^3 What do you think? @JoeJoldin

thank you so much

Directrix (directrix):

You are welcome.
