A new experimental drug has been invented that has the potential to cure patients who are dying from leukemia. If the drug has not yet been authorized for use, would it be ethical for a doctor to use it in order to save his patients? A. No; it is unlawful to test new drugs on humans without authorization. B. Yes; the doctor can use the drugs if the hospital gives its consent. C. Yes; the doctor can use the drugs if the patient gives his or her consent. D. No; drugs should only be used to prevent diseases not cure them.
