where is the centroid of any given triangle

OpenStudy (mathmate):

@killer2490 What are you given, lengths, coordinates, or something else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...unless you have a specific exercise to ask about http://lmgtfy.com/?q=where+is+the+centroid+of+any+given+triangle&l=1#

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nothing just a question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathmate not given anything but a question please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some of the answer choices are point of concurrency of altitdues, medians, perpendicular bisectors or angle bisectors

OpenStudy (mathmate):

If the coordinates of the three vertices are given, the centroid lies at a point with coordinates equal the the mean. Example: ABC:{(2,1),(3,5),(4,6)} Centroid is at ((2+3+4)/3,(1+5+6)/3)=(3,4) If you are given a geometric figure, the centroid lies at the intersection of the three medians.

OpenStudy (mathmate):

So you \(are\) given some information! :)

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

iis it the intersection of medians?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lewl....sorry wasn't sure if that was important

OpenStudy (mathmate):

@AlexandervonHumboldt2 Yes, intersection of medians.

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

i wanted to answer but then got unsue

OpenStudy (mathmate):

... if we are talking a bout a lamina, i.e. uniform density and thickness.

OpenStudy (mathmate):

next time you'd be sure! :) @AlexandervonHumboldt2

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

yeah thx
