Why is "Angle ABC measures 40° and angle BCD measures (2x-1) degrees Find x." = 70.5? I got 20.5 when I made them equal to each other. But yet this question (Angle DAB measures (4x-2) degrees and angle BCD measures 47 degrees. Find x.) I got 12.25 when I made them equal to each other but it was correct. I have no idea what went wrong and the difference between these two

for the first question, (2x-1) degrees for the second question, 47 degrees

... What is strange??

ABC is not equal BCD. This is not a rectangle. So just the opposite angles are equal in a parallelogram that is not a rectangle. BCD is an adjacent angle to ABC so it is supplementary. So ABC + BCD = 180 degrees.
