Lukas earned $28 for mowing lawns. He got $7 for each lawn he mowed.How many lawns did Lukas mow?

You solve this a couple of ways. One way would be to subtract $7 from $28 as many times as necessary to get to zero. Then add up the number of subtractions you made. 28 -7 One lawn ____ 21 -7 Two lawns ____ 14 -7 Three lawns ___ 7 -7 Four lawns. ___ 0 So he mowed 4 lawns. Another way, would be recognize to repeated subtraction of the same number is just division. So 28 divided by 7 = 4 lawns.
