I would edit what you have to say. Making a friend can be a difficult task for some people but for me it is not as challenging.

I find that I am drawn to people that are funny and others that tell interesting stories or like sports. Etc. make it that you are friendly find something to relate to. Eg sports team to talk about. Keep abreast of news. Current event or whatever. Knowing what the person is interested in so you can have the interest. Etc. just ideas here

True story. When my son was in elementary he and Donovan became good friends because my son would stick up for him when Donovan was being picked on and my son knew it was wrong to pick on other kids. Donovan was also withdraw. It so happened the parents were having problems. Later in life the parents separately thanked me for "adopting" based on the friendship that emerged then. They were friends in middle school for a short time before they had moved out the area. The boys are not in touch now but the friendship started when my son reached out to Donovan by himself and picked on a lot.
