Describe the energy transformation when a fan is turned on. (electrical energy, motion energy, etc.)

OpenStudy (danjs):

Chemical Energy to Electrical Energy at the power plant --> Electrical energy from mains power to rotational mechanical energy of the fan motor, also heat is produced, nothing in the real world is ideal and 100% efficient in energy conversions. The fan rotation collides with the air molecules impacting and transfers translational kinetic energy and heat to the air molecules...

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

What I am writing below is certainly not what is expected of SkewlWhizar, but it is interesting to know. Actually the blades of the fan increase the pressure energy of the air, not its kinetic energy. Kinetic energy increases slightly downstream as the air converts pressure energy to kinetic energy.
