If they mean the distance between the tracks of a DVD as the distance between song 1 and song 2, the answer would be 10 to the -4th power
The reason is because when the exponent is to the negative power, it means it is smaller than 0, mainly microscopic
7.4 X 10^-4 is going to be 0.00074 mm This sounds more "correct" than 74000 mm
