1.A Local min of y=x^3+2x^2-1 is? 2.The Y-intercept of x^3+2x^2-1 is? 3.The Y-intercept of x^2+4x-2 is? Pleaseeee help

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[ y=x^3+2x^2-1\]take the derivative, set it equal to zero and solve

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you can do an observation of local minimums by comparing the first and second derivative tests. or if you area allowed, graphing would be easier....

OpenStudy (danjs):

Test the intervals that are defined by your critical points. Increasing/Decreasing, to find local maximum and minimum values.

OpenStudy (danjs):

The y-intercept is when x=0, so use the point (0,y)
