@Mokeira

OpenStudy (samara8954):

@stacy.sook

OpenStudy (samara8954):

what do you think the answer is

OpenStudy (mokeira):

step one is to find the tax. Tax is 7% so we look for 7% of $13.25...what do you get?

OpenStudy (samara8954):

0.9275

OpenStudy (mokeira):

That is the tax...so to find the total cost we just add the tax to the price of item

OpenStudy (samara8954):

7+13.25=20.25

OpenStudy (samara8954):

so is 20.25 the answer

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

???

OpenStudy (samara8954):

what is the answer please!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The item costs $13.25 Tax is $0.93 _______ Add: $14.18

OpenStudy (mokeira):

no the tax is 0.9275 so it is approx. 0.93 add this to the price

OpenStudy (mokeira):

just as @mathstudent55 has done

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You don't add the 7 to the price of $13.25. 7 is the percent rate of the tax. You add the actual amount of tax which is $0.93

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@Mokeira Great job!
