The Chinese,If permitted freely to eanter this country, would create race antagoinisms which would ultimately result in great public disturbance. The Caucasians will not tolerate the mongolian...But this is not alone a race, Labor, and political question.It is one which involves our civilization... Nativists want special status because they got here first. The are typically against immigration and seek to lower the status of newcomers. They generally claim the new comers will not assimilate, or worse, when the assimilate they will lower the overall quality of society. Do you see any of that in the document?
