Not sure if Chicago or Atlanta The Irish settled in all of the following cities EXCEPT _____. Chicago Atlanta Boston New York

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

dunno lol, is there some american city (of the above) where Irish are hated? cause they totally wouldnt wanna go there

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

Irish were hated in nearly every city in the mid-1800s. They didn't settle in Atlanta. It's hard for immigrants to find jobs where slavery is practiced.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

lol sucks to be Irish @arabpride

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

@wwhitlock When the Irish immigrants cam to the US, slavery has already been abolished. Also as you know, slavery was practiced on colored skin only, the Irish were as white as paper. They didn't go to the south because of the fact that it was still in its 'reconstruction' period. Also the south had little jobs. They would usually stay in the north because of the factories, and with factories there was always more jobs available. You answer was correct but your explanation was not.
