Looking for Qualified Helpers!

OpenStudy (preetha):

We are looking for folks who will form the first group of Qualified Helpers.

OpenStudy (preetha):

Here is more information about the program and an application form: https://docs.google.com/a/openstudy.com/document/d/1vwhddcopcKzJevVuf10-t1awlfzb-_aYyglBQiX1Xg4/edit#

OpenStudy (preetha):

You need a SmartScore of at least 80, and a title in a subject - if there are titles for the subject.

OpenStudy (preetha):

Yes, you can make money

OpenStudy (igreen):

It's asking to request access.. @Preetha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ikr

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Awwww I'm 79 :(

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I strongly disagree with this idea of a list of first helpers. 1) Disagreements between the users. 2) I've seen people with low scores help by far better than people with high scores. (so, the score doesn't really determine "helpfulness" ) Also, ~ titles for first helpers? ~ Money? no, I disagree. this is a site where people voluntarily help, not making money.

Nnesha (nnesha):

@SolomonZelman i'm agree with you a lot of users have ss below 80 but they are really good in study and they also have positive attitude

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SolomonZelman is wise.

OpenStudy (preetha):

Hi Solomon. Yes, this is a site where people help for free. And it will always be that way. But like many free sites, it can be a place where you can get premium services that are not free

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I only agree with #2.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Is there a certain age you have to be for this?

OpenStudy (preetha):

Yes, SS 80 is a guideline.

OpenStudy (preetha):

Hmmmm. Age is fine but you need to have an ID!

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

ID is no problem. Just need to go up 1 more SS.......

OpenStudy (igreen):

Lol

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

but many users are not competent to help, even if they have a score of 99.

OpenStudy (igreen):

People already get a lot of help fast, so this Idea won't attract that many users..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have no right to say who is smarter than us just because someone's SS is higher. That just means that they have been on here longer.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

well, even if you make this thing (which I consider to be an unwise decision for a number of reasons given by me as well as some other users, but this is only my opinion about it), then please at least have a general knowledge entry test for this qualification.

Nnesha (nnesha):

what!!!!!!!!!!!! entry test ????about what ???

OpenStudy (igreen):

@SolomonZelman There will be training..

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

entry test, testing user's knowledge. Because a smart score of 99, can be just acquired with time, and not necessarily as much with a knowledge. idk, you do what you do.... but I think this is an over-action.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i agree with an entry test. i think it should have all subjects so you, as well as preetha, can know what your strengths are and can place you accordingly

OpenStudy (igreen):

^^^^^^^

OpenStudy (igreen):

I believe that's what they have planned. @SolomonZelman @AriPotta

OpenStudy (aripotta):

ah ok :)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I mean we already got a variety of titles, in addition to smart score (separations). Adding a qualification for a "first helper"? don't you think it's too much?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I would first deal with glitches that IS has, then think of adding features and other qualifications.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

** OS, not IS.
