geometry?

ABCD is a rhombus. Explain why triangle ABC equal triangle CDA.

Directrix (directrix):

A rhombus is a parallelogram so all properties of the parallelogram apply to the rhombus. 1. Side AB is congruent to Side DC and Side AD is congruent to Side BC because opposite sides of a parallelogram are congruent. That gives two pairs of sides. 2. Segment AC is congruent to Segment CA by the reflexive property 3. Triangle ABC is congruent to Triangle DCA by the SSS Triangle Congruency Postulate.

3. why cant it be SAS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix

Directrix (directrix):

It could be if a pair of congruent angles between the congruent sides of the two triangles had been entered as a statement. There is more than one way to do this Do you have options?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SAA?

Directrix (directrix):

You can go with SAS. The opposite angles of a parallelogram are congruent. Also, ASA, AAS, as well as SSS

Directrix (directrix):

Not SSA. There is no such triangle congruence postulate.

thank you

Directrix (directrix):

You are welcome.
