What is the acceleration of an object if it goes from a velocity of +25 m/s to rest in 5.0 s? A. –5 m/s2 B. +5 m/s2 C. –25 m/s2 D. +25 m/s2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

acceleration is the rate at which velocity changes ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah...and...?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so apply the changes ... what is the change in the velocity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it B?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

B is close, but no since we are slowing down, we have a negative acceleration. otherwise it was fine. 25 to 0 is a change of -25 and in 5 seconds is -25/5 = -5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay...thanks

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks.
